Finally More Soap!

It's been a long time since my last post.  I've sort of been on a soaping break, but now I'm back to soaping again!  I recently made a Gardener's Soap and some Salt Bars.  The Gardener's Soap is three layers filled with ground cocoa nibs, ground plantain skins, ground loofah, rose clay, dill weed, and calendula.  It's very lightly scented with Pikake Flower fragrance oil.

Gardener's Soap

The soap is curing and will be ready in about four weeks.

The Salt Bars are made with sea salt and scented with peppermint, rosemary, and tea tree.  Sea salts are full of beneficial minerals such as magnesium, potassium, zinc, iodine, and calcium, and help to cleanse and draw out toxins from the skin.  Many think that the salt will cause the soap to be very exfoliating.  But as the salt is exposed and used, it becomes smooth as a polished stone.

I will probably be doing a patriotic soap next, and also plan on making some coconut milk soaps and beer soaps soon.  Will post pictures when they're done.

Take care!

Happy New Year!

The past year, like every year, has flown by.  Here's a last look at some of my soaps from 2012:

I have a lot of new soaps planned for 2013.  I want to do a lot more cupcake soaps, and soaps with embeds and textured tops.  More rubber duckies also!  I also want to add a line of more natural soaps, using natural colors such as clays and essential oils instead of fragrance oils.  These soaps will be more natural, simple, organic, and with simpler packaging.

My wish is for everyone to have a wonderful, safe, healthy and happy 2013!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and a Ho Ho Ho!!!  It's hard to believe it's already Christmas!  As usual I just got started on my shopping and cards and gift wrapping a few days ago.  So I'm late again.  Next year I'm going to get all my shopping done on black Friday weekend.  Really, I am.  Well, I figure people will be happy to get a gift even if it's after Christmas, right?

I haven't been doing much soaping lately, but here are some pictures of the latest soaps.

This is my Gingerbread Cupcake Soap.  It has a cute little gingerbread man on top.

I had some soap batter left over after I made the cupcakes so I threw it into a mold along with some soap chunks and made a few Gingerbread soap bars.

This is my Christmas Tree Cupcake Soap.  It's scented with vanilla bean and a hint of mint and is topped with iridescent glitter and a star bead on top.

All my soaps will be on sale so check my Artfire!

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

Winter Soaps

Hi everyone!

I've been working on winter and Holiday soaps and most are done curing now.  They're waiting to be wrapped and labeled and sent off to the store.  I haven't taken pictures of all of them yet, but here's a few of them.

This one I'm calling Blizzard.  It has olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, macadamia nut oil, cocoa butter, and castor oil.  It didn't come out exactly the way I wanted.  It ended up having the crackled look which happens sometimes when titanium dioxide is used to whiten the soap.  It doesn't affect the quality of the soap, just adds an interesting crackled look which some people like, some people don't like.  I like it in certain types of designs such as swirls.  I still like how the soap turned out.  The crackles add a sort of chaotic look which made it fitting to call the soap Blizzard.  It's scented with peppermint.

Here's another one which turned out really well.  It's called Sleigh Ride.

This one has cocoa butter and shea butter in it and is scented with a top note of orange, followed by a middle note of green apple, and winding down to peppermint and cloves.  This is not an overpowering scent and I really like the lingering scent of the peppermint and cloves.  I used oxides and micas for color, and threw in some embed chunks and topped it all with iridescent glitter.

This last soap is one that I also really like.  It's called Island Christmas and is not a traditional scent for the Christmas season.

This scent is a combination of guava, mango, papaya, and strawberry with a base note of freshly picked peppermint leaf.  It's a really juicy tropical scent with hint of mint and I just love this fragrance!  When  I designed the look of the soap, I wanted to create a shoreline on the bottom, waves and surf of the ocean, and then a tropical sunset sky of warm oranges, pinks, and yellows.

Hope you like these soaps.  I will post more later.  Take care!

Here's another cupcake soap I recently made.  These have coconut oil, olive oil, palm oil, castor oil, macadamia nut oil, cocoa butter and cocoa powder.  They are scented with a yummy dark chocolate truffle fragrance oil.

I've made more cupcakes and christmas soap, so will post pictures of them soon.

Trick or Treat Cupcake Soap

Hi everyone!

I haven't posted in a long time but I've been making lots of soap.  I just finished wrapping up some cupcake soaps I made a month ago.  They are my Halloween cupcake soaps, and are scented in cheesecake for the base and strawberry for the frosting.  They're topped with a light dusting of iridescent glitter and blue jojoba beads.  I think they're pretty cute.

I had some soap batter left over so I poured it into a mold and made just a few bar soaps.

I'm working on my Christmas soaps right now.  I've started on Christmas rubber ducky cupcakes which are really cute.  I also will do more Christmas cupcakes and bar soaps.   I'm getting some new fragrances in soon and can't wait to try them.  I'll post pictures soon.

Take care!

Lilac Honeysuckle

Hello everyone!

I made a pink and violet soap scented in lilac honeysuckle and topped with some iridescent glitter.  I used a hanger swirl to create the design and I like the way it came out.

I ordered more supplies and should be getting them in later this week.  I was finally able to get more loofah so will be making more loofah soaps soon.  I also got some rubber duckies to embed in soap.  They're so cute!  Another thing I ordered is pink Himalayan salt so I can make some salt bars.  That should be fun!  I'll post all those on here as I get them done.

Have a great week!
